On 21st of October 2009, Analytica organized a Roundtable discussion in the EU InfoCentre in Skopje following the latest report from the EU Approximation and Integration Advocacy Programme: “Four Years from the Candidacy Status: what has been done and what to expect?” The participants at the Roundtable were representatives of the civil society sector in Macedonia and the media. Analytica’s main goal was to engage the civil sector into the EU integration process more actively by organizing events and activities of this kind, and raise issues of critical importance as the EU integration process takes another leap after the 2009 Progress report with positive recommendation by the EC.
Our research fellow, Sonja Risteska participated in the 3rd Central European Conference in Regional Science, organized by the Technical University Kosice, in Kosice, the Slovak Republic. She presented joint paper written together with our other research fellow Agim Selami on the topic: Public Administration Reform in Macedonia with Particular Focus on Decentralization Process. The conference programme was divided into thematic sessions.
Natasha Hroneska, Analytica’s research fellow on the Energy and Infrastructure programme was invited to give a presentation at the third Roundtable on Energy in the Southeast Europe organized by the International Security and Affairs Center (ISAC), one of the most influential think-tanks in Serbia. Ms. Hroneska had a presentation on the energy security in Macedonia and the wider region, at the second panel - Energy Security in the Southeast Europe – Points of Concern for Serbia and Countries of the Region.
Our research fellow Sonja Risteska took active participation in the 1st Slovenian Social Sciences Conference, with a working title “Economic, political and societal position and role of the European Union and its member states in the time of global instability”. The latest report of the EU Approximation and Integration Advocacy Programme, “Four Years from the Candidacy Status: what has been done and what to expect?” was presented in the EU session at this conference.
