Public Private Partnership: Problems and Opportunities, Republic of Macedonia

Analytica today presented the findings of document: Public Private Partnership: Problems and Opportunities, Republic of Macedonia, prepared within the @CIVIKA Mobilitas project ''Public finances - with focus on Public Private Partnership''.

Analytica think tank stated that Public Private Partnership should be in citizens' interest, not just business interest. For successful implementation of PPP projects, it is necessary to strengthen the institutional capacities at central and local level. Non compliance with the provisions of the Law for concessions and PPP, omissions in the manner of conducting the open procedure for awarding a PPP contract, as well as neglecting the civil society sector in the decision-making process, are the main problems.

The event was attended by representatives from the municipalities, the Ministry of Economy, as well as representatives from NGOs and the media.
