Strategies for Regional Energy Security conference
Research Fellow Ana Stojilovska and Research and Management Coordinator Sonja Zuber took part in the conference Strategies for Regional Energy Security – Energy Policies in Times of Climate Change held in Bitola from 12 until 13 December 2011 organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy Societas Civilis and FRONT 21/42.
Research Fellow Ana Stojilovska and Research and Management Coordinator Sonja Zuber took part in the conference Strategies for Regional Energy Security – Energy Policies in Times of Climate Change held in Bitola from 12 until 13 December 2011 organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in cooperation with the Institute for Democracy Societas Civilis and FRONT 21/42.
The conference brought together representatives from the relevant institutions, academia, companies, CSOs, experts from Macedonia and the region in order to discuss the main national and regional challenges to achieving energy security as well as the possible energy policies which should be undertaken for the purpose of achieving sustainable development, contributing to the fight against climate change and harmonizing the region's energy policies with the relevant EU acquis. Ana Stojilovska participated in the third session Energy security as a global problem – regional challenges and perspectives and by explaining the role of the private sector (private companies and CSOs) in achieving energy security though the Macedonian case, made recommendations to the respective institutions for more private sector focused policies and greater participation of this sector in the area of implementation of the renewable energy and energy efficiency policies at national and local level.
