Analytica’s Security Research Fellow Andreja Bogdanovski has become part of the “Providing for Peacekeeping research project”. In the forthcoming period he will be providing this network of experts with analysis of Macedonia’s peacekeeping efforts. This research project is run by the International Peace Institute and The Elliott School at George Washington University. Leading researchers include well-known authors such as Alex J. Bellamy, Adam C. Smith etc.

The first result of this collaboration is a profile of Macedonia’s peacekeeping experience. It examines recent trends related to UN and non-UN peacekeeping operations, Macedonia’s internal decision-making process on whether to contribute uniformed personnel to the UN, the rationales driving its contributions, the major barriers to contributing, current challenges, key domestic champions and opponents and major capabilities and caveats.
