Promotion of the School Green Action for Better Future project
On 10th of October 2012 the project Green Pack Junior was promoted. It was funded by the Regional Environment Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia.
On 10th of October 2012 the project Green Pack Junior was promoted. It was funded by the Regional Environment Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC), the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC), the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Macedonia. Its main aim is raising awareness for sustainable development in the schools in Macedonia and it is a continuation of the Green Pack project which was implemented from 2006-2009 in Macedonia. Green Pack Junior is a specially designed tool for education on environmental issues for pupils of I-V grade and it will be used as a learning material in the primary schools as of 2012/2013.
As part of the overall Green Pack Junior project, grants to 10 civil society organizations were given for the purpose of including the primary schools in Macedonia and getting the teachers’ and pupils’ feedback for the draft version of the Green Pack Junior materials. The project results of the civil society organizations were also disseminated at the promotion event. The promotion also included interactive activities for the youngest pupils and addresses by the project donors. At the event present were also many teachers and pupils, the participating civil society organizations as well as the interested public. It was emphasized that the education plays a key role in achieving sustainable development and that it should be directed to pupils of youngest age paving the way for environmentally educated future generations.
