Attending the International Security Forum

Magdalena Lembovska took part at the 10^th International Security Forum (ISF) in Geneva, Switzerland, from 21^st to 24^th of April. At the same time, she was attending the 15^th annual conference of the Partnership for Peace Consortium of Defense Academies and Security Studies Institutes which was hosted in conjunction with the ISF.

The International Security Forum was launched in 1994 and has since been at the forefront of cooperation among international security professionals around the world. The ISF has established itself as a forum for discussing ways to increase communication and cooperation between institutions engaged in research related to international security. The conference is biennial and is held alternately in Zurich and Geneva. Due to the success of the ISF, the Swiss government continues to support the conference cycle with its international co-sponsors and partners.

Attended by a wide range of policy-makers, experts and practitioners from all over the world (including diplomats and other government officials, military, academics and representatives of international and non-governmental organisations), the 10th ISF specifically addressed the multiple transitions we face in today’s global security environment. A total of 125 eminent speakers took part in the 29 panels of the conference.

In a message to the participants, Ambassador Fred Tanner, Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP), host of the Forum, insisted on the sense of community and powerful outreach of the ISF: “All in all, the ISF has become a significant platform for deliberations and exchange on pressing security issues and solutions worldwide.”
