Meeting with experts from the environment sector

Analytica has had the pleasure to discuss the upcoming report on Wastewater Management in Macedonia with experts from the environment sector, with specialization in sustainable development and water management. The informal workshop was organized to have valuable feedback on the research and to the policy conclusions. The attained advices will be a precious input to the final report before publishing.

As part of the dissemination strategy of the project “Building National Capacities: Harmonization, Legislation and Management” Analytica initiated organizing of public debate on pressing issues regarding waste management practices in Macedonia. Experts devoted to work in the waste management sector from the MOEPP, the Delegation of the European Commission and the Regional Environment Centre unselfishly shared their experiences regarding the upcoming actions on regionalization of the municipal landfills.

Graduate Student Workshop: "Energy and Climate Change"

Within the Energy and Infrastructure Programme, Analytica organized its First International Graduate Student Workshop on the topic of “Energy and Climate Change – Southeast Europe in focus”. The participants at the workshop were professors, PhD candidates and post-graduate students from Macedonia and abroad, giving presentations on the topics of Climate Change Mitigation, Renewable Energy Technologies, Energy Efficiency and Regional Cooperation.

Budva, 1-4 April 2009: First training session within the frame of the “Mapping and Monitoring Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans” regional project

At the beginning of 2009, Analytica started a regional project under the Geneva Centre for Democratic Control of Armed Forces, Geneva (DCAF) and the Centre for Civil-Military Relations, Belgrade (CCMR) on “Mapping and Monitoring Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans”. Analytica’s partners organizations in this project are: Institute for International Relations from Zagreb, Centre for Security Studies from Sarajevo, Institute for Democracy and Mediation from Tirana, Centre for Democracy and Human Rights from Podgorica and the Kosova Centre for Security Studies from Prishtina.
